Edwina has specialised in the bridal business, for the last fifteen years and has a wealth of experience and knowledge in this area of the fashion business and together with her expertise, you will feel safe in the knowledge that she will be able to solve your problems and meet your needs.
Her studio is based in Hertfordshire. From here, she works with many brides, during the wedding season, year in, year out. Designing gowns, bridesmaids dresses and general bridal alterations, from the simple, like gown lengths, to the more complicated alterations, like altering sizes and working with beads and lace fabrics. Edwina’s training and work experience means she drafts her own patters and makes up to a sample machinist standard. She values attention to detail and a high standard of work.
Edwina never charges for consultations but once you decide to go ahead with a design, a deposit will be required. Before a consultation, it is always extremely helpful to collect magazine cut outs of all your favourite features, sleeves, necklines and skirts. This way, she can see clearly, your likes and dislikes, from here, she can design a few options for you to choose from.
Once she knows exactly what your dream gown looks like, she can start to give you ideas of prices. It is all dependant on the fabrics you choose and how much detail you decide to go for. A rule of thumb would be, her copy Kate dress would probably come to around £700 to make up, depending on choice of fabrics etc. A simpler dress, less skirt, some lace work, small train, probably between £400 & £500. Again, dependant on final choices of fabric and detail. She understands the need to work to a budget, discussing your budget with her, means you have your dream gown and not blow your budget.
